ROCKET ART BOOK
Tell Me The Truth About Espresso an art book sharing the Rocket story and the passion for our craft.
The book was inspired from afar by W. H. Auden’s poem O TELL ME THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE, and up close by the people who made the ROCKET machines an authentic and genuine espresso experience (the closest possible thing to the truth about Espresso)...
Rocket was born in the 21st century thanks to the complicity among some young friends, enthusiastic about the idea of creating an espresso machine to make coffee at home in a workmanlike manner.
Its name was given by looking at the stars to symbolise the fascination for space exploration.
This small company makes Milan its home involving a team of craftsmen and inventors committed on focusing and having fun in this activity. It became a workspace with a solid corporate culture in a short time, a space where life does not stop at the entrance.
Rocket then developed as an act of challenge to the two waves of the coffee culture. On the one hand, there is the traditional Italian Espresso: magnificent professional coffee machines, golden rules, and the historical search for coffee quality based on the perfect blend. On the other hand, the novelty and internationality of an adventurous and experimental approach that views the espresso machine as a laboratory. It plays on other systems, often manual or domestic. The value of single‑origin is the sign of quality.
Rocket sails both waves with ease and becomes the most virtuous union of this culture. Creating professional espresso machines in a domestic setting suggests tradition as a space for testing and learning the endless possibilities of coffee perfection.
Today Rocket runs over the world quickly. The livery, “Rocket Espresso Milano, Handmade in Italy,” is like a crew song. Its flag, the R inside a circle, is a clear warning to pirates about the value and strength of authenticity.
